Luxury Beauty: In a Taxi Near You?

Glamour Magazine and L’Oréal USA give new meaning to mobile shopping.
Glamour Magazine and L’Oréal USA recently teamed up to make it easier than ever to satisfy consumer demand for on-the-go shopping for luxury beauty. Termed “a revolutionary shopping experience,” Mobile Taxi Shops, which premiered during Fashion Week, in Manhattan, brought a new wave of shopping technology to the U.S.  Passengers in The Big Apple found “Shop The Look” icons in a fleet of m-commerce-enabled Taxi Shops to instantly buy Lancôme and Yves Saint Laurent beauty products while riding through the city.

Glamour worked with SpyderLynk to SnapTag-enable the shoppable taxis and offered passengers free rides anywhere in Manhattan for five days from Fashion Week hot spots.  Riders got to see Glamour’s fashion development director, Susan Cernek share spring’s hottest beauty trends on Taxi TV, with Lancôme and Yves Saint Laurent makeup artists demonstrating the look. Passengers were able to hover their phones over the SnapTags found in the taxi to instantly buy the products for home delivery.
